AlternativeCurrencies

Alternative Currencies is a Philadelphia-based project that gathers independent contemporary arts groups from around the country to share their innovative modes of working. The project has two components:

A collection of satellite exhibitions scheduled throughout Philadelphia in October 2015 in which local, independent spaces host contemporary arts groups from around the country.

- A one-day program of short talks scheduled for October 3, 2015

Alternative Currencies is organized by Grizzly Grizzly Gallery in partnership with The Galleries at Moore College of Art & Design, and coincides with the exhibition Strange Currencies: Art & Action in Mexico City, 1990-2000, on view at The Galleries September 19 – December 12, 2015. Participating Philadelphia spaces include Vox Populi, Rebekah Templeton, Traction Company and Mount Airy Contemporary.
